Lamb - HELP?

Ok...I'm a huge lamb fan from way back...the usual roast in the oven after marinating in balsamic, garlic and rosemary. I'm looking for a good lamb recipe to smoke...smoking lamb is out of my comfort zone in a big way...anybody got something that will knock my (and the hubby"s )socks off? My husband is English so....it"s even freakier for him!!

I suspect manx or LilSmoker (and a few others) may be able to help you out on that one.  My best effort for lamb was on a grill at BBQ University making a mechout rack of lamb in an African Harissa marinade. 
Lamb is not the household favorite so don't have much call for it here.  Interestingly, Gyros is another story.

You may want to smoke it the same way.  I do not have a recipe yet.  I have smoked leg of lamb twice now, but both times I purchased them already in a marinade.  Turned out great.

Hi La Quinta, i have had some good results with lamb, i have done this recipe a couple of times, taken from the Bradley u.k. site:

Although i like my beef rare, i prefer lamb a little more done, so i cooked for longer than the recipe stated, and i used oak instead of special blend as it was all i had at the time. Last time i did this it was served with new potatoes, asparagus and green beans, and a good lashing of mint sauce, was very nice indeed.

I also did a rack of lamb, marinated with rosemary, garlic, salt and pepper, i smoked it at approx 45 mins per LB, again it was very nice.

SOLD! I've been checkin' out the lamb every time I go for meat and there's always a nice leg or two. Looks like this weekend may be it. Do ya think with temperatures being a little tricky I could get 4-6 racks of St. Louis in there with a leg. Times seem to be compatible. Maybe with a little careful rotation I can pull it off? What about flavor mingling between lamb and pork? May have to throw some ABTs in there also.

Picked up a 6# Aussie boneless leg of lamb Friday night and prepared the paste found in the Bradley collection series. Washed and covered the leg with paste, wrapped it in plastic and left it in the fridge overnight. Preheated the DBS to 210F and threw in 4 racks of St.Louis' finest and the leg. Smoked with Special Blend for 3 hours which brought temp in the leg to 130F. Continued on and at 8 hrs temp in the lamb was 161F. Ribs and lamb were absolutely awesome! And no crossover taste between them. Used my regular rub for the ribs. Everyone who tried the lamb loved it. Even those who normally turn their noses up said they never had lamb that tasted that great before. Lamb is definitely back on my list! I love it when a plan comes together! ;D ;D ;D

I did some little "lollipop" lamb chops (dry run for a party) using the bradley recipe...wonderful outcome!!! I was shocked that smoked lamb would be this good! Thanks for the help everyone!

Picked up a leg-o-lamb to smoke last week and had to surrender it to the freezer cause I couldn't find my recipe card (you know the ones that used to be on the back side of the card included w/ a twelve pack of pucks). I want to use the same paste from the "Bradley Collection" recipe for lamb. Can't find it anywhere, not even on Old's forum. Help! At the rate I'm going that leg's gonna get freezer burn! Can anybody give me a path? ??? ??? :-\
