The quote below is off of another site (gaming) I go to.

QuoteQUOTE
It usually gets all the way up into the mid 30s%.

Heh, we whine here when the humidity gets up over 40%
.  End of original quote.

You poor babies....

I've seen Dew point hit at 72 -74 F. Now we are talking HUMIDITY!! I've seen Rh at 99 plus % on a clear day.

As for the rain, it has not stopped here yet. It comes several times per day. Each time it is a downpour.

The dogs created a path down to the soil in my backyard. These became a channel for the water. Due to the "mini" fast moving flooding my years of building up the soil are now gone. I use to have several inches of good top soil I created by composting. Now I have a huge area of nothing be white sugar sand. The water has been running so fast (my back yard slopes downward) it has under minded my grass and it just floated away.

This year is unlike any year I can remember. I asked mother if it ever rain like it has lately when I was a boy. She said no. At times the air (no joke) feels funny to Susan and myself. We live at the tail end of this peninsula and normally the clouds move quickly. As of late there are times when nothing is moving.

Strange... damn strange indeed. Wow as I'm writing this out our 3rd rain for the day just started and it is coming down in buckets.

As I said...."Strange... damn strange indeed."

Michigan hasnt had 3 days of rain all summer I dont think.  My horse pastures are ike a desert, not to mention my grass is all dead!

It's been hot here in Ontario as well.  Sounds like they're just barely holding off the Grasshopper invasion in the Prairies.

Where are you Olds that the weather is so rainy?

What is so nuts-o is after a rain the sun comes out for an hour or so, then we get another rain. This has been going on for days. Also the rains have been coming in from the Gulf (West) which is very strange. Normally our afternoon thunder showers come from the East.

Rain here as well Olds.  You forgot to mention that when the sun comes out between storms that you can actually see the steam rising.

I haven't cut my grass since the 4th of july.  When I water the plants, I can actually hear the grass go "Ahhhhhhhh!"
From the forest itself comes the handle for the axe.

Well, come December, I'll be wishing I was down your way.

I've been coming down there since I was a kid with my parents.  St Pete's Beach was always where we went.  Now my wife and I have driven down a couple of times and as soon as my son is travel worthy, we'll probably start doing March Breaks down there again.  I still get excited every time I see the Don Cesar for the first time in a couple of years.  It brings back all sorts of great memories.

As I was saying to Wildcat on Tuesday's Chat, I love to be down there for Grapefruit League Baseball.  March Break wouldnt' be the same without a trip to Dunedin to see the Toronto Blue Jays.

My parents will be down there for November and then January through March.  They're big into the Lawn Bowling these days so they like the idea of playing all winter as well.

Anyways, not a lot about Smoking or the weather, but I just wanted to say that you've got a great city there.

Olds & Wildcat, send some rain up north to Maryland.  We are in another bad drought since 2002.  this year was bad enough I had my well pump dropped another 30 feet on Monday.  We were drawing air at 110 feet.  The well is 380 feet down but the pump was at 110 feet, now its down to 140 feet.  When we had the house built 10 years ago is was 30 under the water table back then.

We have not seen rain in a long time.  What we get just adds surface level benfit.  We had one cut in late June, another mid July to take care of the edges looking scraggely.  (and help the lawn guy pay bills)  next cut late August maybe.  Most of the grass is brown and mostly dead.

Most of the rain has left my area.  Temps climbed into the upper 90's and with the humidity level, the heat index was 108F yesterday.  All of this with no breeze.
