The other day two of my kids and I went out to try this smokepit restaurant that we have been wanting to try for awhile. It gets pretty good reviews from the people up here. My son had a pulled pork sammich, daughter had a catfish basket ??? and I had a combo platter of ribs, brisket and 1/4 chicken. First words out my sons mouth was that the pp was dry, not juicy like I make. Nice compliment. My ribs were fall off the bone, but dry as well as the brisket. Chicken was good though. Catfish was breaded on a roll. Very small piece. The portions were small too as well as the sides. Best thing was the sweet potato fries. All in all, this place can't beat my Bradley. Maybe I should have let the pitmaster in on FTC'ing and some of the recipes here. :D :D :D

Like I've said before on this forum, "If you folks get any better your going to put all the Q joints out of business"!!! ;D
I have to admit we don't go out for Q anymore. Ann always says she gets disappointed and can't wait to get home and have some real Q. :D

I know what you mean.  BBQ out here in Southern California just doesn't cut it for me.  It's usually far for us and I always come out of a place disappointed.  I had to learn how to smoke it myself if I want that great smoked flavor w/o the meat being dry.

Kell,

Have you ever been to Baby Blues BBQ in Venice? www.babybluesbarbq.com  I watched an episode on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the Food Network and they went there. Looked like pretty good food, but you never know.

One of my goals is to pack up the family and our camper and do a BBQ tour of the south.  THAT would be a great trip.
