Sorry to hear that.  :'( You could, of course, get one now and if they do not build the cold box as an attachment, then you could give the old one to another family member.  ;D

The smoke generator is itself and attachment.

I can get a nice 24" x 30" x 26" Alum. cabinet with a gasketed door for the asking. Is this too big for a cold smoke box?

Sounds to me to be a perfect size to try out. Get it while you can sherlock. The price is certainly right.  ;)

I agree with Ice... I don't think it would be too big. The only reason I used the one I did (16x16x16 steel) was because it was available.
