Since I have complained here...

..about my Cell Phone troubles, I'll let ya'll share in the good news.  As of 12:30 PM Central Time, I have a working cell phone again.  The Porting of the number was completed on Friday, and Monday on a call to the Portability Supervisor, I was told it would be activated and ready to use within 1 hour, possibly even 10 minutes.

Evidently his version of "ready to use" differs from mine, as I still needed to punch some numbers into the phone to get it to work...I didn't know this yesterday, and that resulted in another phone call in which I was not very happy yesterday.  Got to thinking about it overnight, and recalled that when I got Dad's phone working (he didn't port a number in, just took what they gave him), I had to enter a bunch of codes, so I was going to call and ask about that.  When I got to work, I decided to check on the case# I was given at the beginning of the port, and it said "Port In case had been completed.  Please proceed to program your phone."  Could not find instructions on how to do that, so I tried the Tech Support line...first 2 tries were "we are unable to take your call as we are experiencing unusually high call volume", then the third try was going to have me on hold for 30 minutes.  Called a little after noon, and they answered right away and after 3 attempts at telling the guy my problem, we started getting the codes entered, and at 12:30 my phone now worked the way it was supposed to.

So, now I'm so happy, I could just chit. lol :D

Thanks Cat.  Didn't know for sure myself. :P  Forgot to add in my post...13+ hours on the phone getting it done (total since Aug. 20).

Glad to see you finally got everything worked out. I know what you went through. I had some serious issues with Nextel a few months back. Thank god I was able to get out of my contract and switch carries. It only took numerous emails, phone calls and the help of the BBB..LOL

I threatened to report it to the FCC, and did send a couple of e-mails that direction (they went unanswered too  :-\ ).
