Another puck non-advancement

Xmas day I had a problem with pucks advancing.  Could advance them by pushing the button but most times not automatically.  Opened the generator today to clean out and see if I could detect the problem.  Powered it up, no advancement by pushing the button at all.  Watched it for 20 minutes and darn if it didn't cycle like it should.  I have 10 pounds of tasso resting in the frig to smoke tomorrow.  This should be interesting.  I may have to manually place a puck on the burner every 20 minutes.

On top of that, when I opened the generator I discovered that the black plastic junction box is flopping around because when they tightened down the screws to hold it in place, they overtightened them to the point of breaking all 4 of the anchors.  Looks like I'll be calling Bradley and beg for a new generator.  This is terribly depressing.

Okay, sounds like a beer evey 20 minutes until done......   ???

Arc,
You are dead on the money.  Have already begun manually advancing Coors Light every 20 minutes or so.  Ample supply laid in for tomorrow's smoking adventure. ;D

Very confusing.  Hooked the smoke gen back up to the tower expecting to have to manually smoke 10 lbs. of tasso.  Darned if it didn't start working right off  the bat.  It has successfully cycled 3 times without fail.  Of course I don't trust the darn thing so I have to go out every 20 minutes to make sure it's OK.  Of course that means I have to walk right past the frig for possible combustion fighting liquid.  Anybody have any ideas on what is going on with the smoke gen?

Is it the digital? Cannot speak to the quality of code running in it if it is. Perhaps your "reboot" got it back on track.

Gizmo

My previous military and commercial training in electronics would blame it on "PFM", other wise know as Pure Freakin Magic.  My current training and experience in computers would blame it on "PFM".  Or as to restate a phrase from "Robo Cop", it is just "another glitch in the program".  You may go on for years without ever having another problem.  Knock on wood.  I like Sparky's answer, the reboot fixed it.  Usually always works with computers.   ::)

Of course, in a more devious world, you accidently activated the "grab beer and check smoke generator" subroutine. This is normally a maintenance function at the factory...   :D

I'm so new I can't help with smoke gen but i'm sure the guy's in here can, as far as your fire prevention program that sounds like that's right on target good luck with that generator!

Arc, it is the digital and Gizmo, I'm going with the PFM theory as there is absolutely no other explanation.  It has perfomed absolutely flawlessly today.  I am really happy about that as I already had seasoned up 10 pounds of butts to make tasso for myself and friends.

Arc, let's keep that grab beer and check gen subroutine between you and me.  Wouldn't want my wife to catch on! ;)                                                                                                                                                               KyNola
