Have you seen this thread yet: http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=7823.0

Also how close are you ready to send to me the copy of the recipe site so I can upload it? I don't think your upload program that you are using will allow anything that large to upload.

Don't worry about the auto installer unless you want to, or I will do it for you--no worries.

The database has been completed for sometime, I just update it as I add to the recipe site. As per your previous post, after the Grillin' section was added I've been hoping to get more grilling recipes before sending it to you. I'm currently working on information on plank grilling.

I've seen the post you are referring to and had copied it the day it was posted. For the recipe site; Pachanga needs some editing. Or maybe it's just me. It's has great information, but the narrative distracts from the cooking method. I am in the process of editing it and will send Pachanga a draft to get more input from him. I can always add a link to the original post if someone wants to see the narrative.

I just compared the old files to the updated one.

The first version of the data base was 5.75mb; (3.75mb in images and 2mb for text).
The second version (after compressing the file) contains over 17mb; (11mb in images, and 6mb in text).

After I get Pachanga recipe on, and the plank grilling information on I'll email it to you do you in a self extracting zip file.

K...

For the future I need to figure out how we can patch an update without having to reload everything. I think the installer I used will allow us just to insert new images... I'm not sure our program will allow the same.  But this is ok if we keep the update to once every 2-3 years.

The file is much larger then I had thought.

Does the program have an auto installer feature. If so, I'll tinker around with it.

Ya that program I used before is an auto installer.

Olds;

Are you using another program to create the auto installer. I've looked around the GS Notes program and couldn't find one.

If it is a separate program is it freeware program?

Yes for our use it is free. Just run the current program (reinstall) and at the end it will tell you where to download it.  It is pretty easy to use and to figure out.  Just make sure the install path is the same.

Thanks!

I'll take a look at it tomorrow. If I succeed I'll use your same license agreement. ;D

Hi Olds;

I didn't get a chance to check the program out today. I'll get to it this evening for sure.

I've located and downloaded the auto install program. It's looks very user friendly, so I should be able to set up the data to auto install.

I know you know this but the data and images have to be done in two installs.

I didn't know that. I still have one more recipe to write up and add; but tomorrow I'll do a test run on the current data and images I currently have, and let you know the results.
