I have a MSI motherboard with a live update. Well I flashed the bios and all was good until it hit me I had no sound~~!

After checking everything I could think of, drivers, sound card was reconnized, etc. I findly figured out the update defaulted to the Nivida nForce on-board sound "card." Well I have the on-board sound disabled as I use an SB Audigy Audio card instead.... talk about egg on your face~~~LOL!

Olds, I don't know if I like updates on BIOS's anyway.

I have an ASUS, everytime I do one on it I always find myself reverting back to the old on.  BIOS~~~if there is no problems, I leave them alone~~Except on my DELL

I needed the lastest motherboard drivers as well as the bios flashed in order to take full advantage of this latest upgrade. Since I upgraded I'm holding a good 55-60 fps. Mass assult can = 34 gamers and 210 bots. Besides being in the game myself, my system is also the game server and voice server. So my system get pushed hard!

Have you looked into the next generation systems yet? I'm looking at the AMD K8 processor (32/64 bit.) IF you are into gaming then you know that Quake III can bring down to their knees the best of the 32 bit systems out there.... I've also got my eye on the GeForce 6800 AGP 8x. However, I not yet sure it will my next v-card.

I think I will wait until the beginning of the second quarter of 05 before I build out a new box.
