Spammers And Garbage

Been seeing alot of spam garbage with different web site crap. Are the mods taking care of this? We dont need our forum closed due to scum bags.

Your right, we don't need this great resorce screwed up by these "goofs".
I sent a few pm's to Admin. regarding this and the influx of bogus members that have spam web sites (porn)  listed in their profile on the weekend. They are looking into it.

there has to be a way to stop the spamers, it is a nuisance and takes  away from what this forum is all about ... bradley smokers, how to use them, recipies, and tricks on how to smoke. As well to help each other with problems that occur with the bradleys.

There is, but you need at least two super moderators or two "Limited" Admin.

Just like the recipe site...no one can just sign up and post. I clear them first. If they get by me then I have a couple of levels of ban I do. If they still get past me I just pick up the phone and call Cyber Dude.

There's about 4 pages of bogus members now! I have a feeling they are just getting started.

Yes you're right Raye, as we've said in the past it would probably be much better allround if this forum/community were maintained or partly controled by some of our members. We at least need regular moderators, or even better admins with enough power to keep things running smoothly.

An admin with the right privilages could even keep the forum updated as and when updates become available, we've already had issues with this in the past. Kam the Bradley IT guy has been great with dealing with problems in the past, but it still takes time, and we're always at the mercy of waiting for somebody to fix things. If we had member mods/admins with the correct privilages they could deal with any issues very quickly.
It is without doubt the members that have made this place so great, so surely it would make sense for some members to help take care of things?

Even the pest spammers could have their accounts deleted instantly, even if they manage to join up, they can be shown the door very quickly, and their posts removed  ;)

I totally agree with ya LS, a member mods/admin is the way to go to get rid of this crap quick and efficiently.  Its really getting out of hand!

Good Morning All,

Katie with bradley Smokers here.

I just wanted to let you all know that we are doing our best to eliminate all the spammers. Every Spam Post reported gets sent to our IT Department right away to be deleted. We are also on here ourselves trying to monitor the content. We love the Forum too and want to keep it running and are just as frustrated as you guys with some of the posts that show up.
