Smoking soon said this was a great friendly site for all smokers.  So I hope ya-all will welcome me so I can learn some new recipes

Smoking Duck

Welcome, Savannah Smoker.  You definitely don't need a Bradley to learn good things here....however, it won't be long before the bug hits you to get one!  Please feel free to add any of your recipes as well.  We're always willing to learn new things!

Thank you everyone for the welcome.  Yes NePaSmoKer we have some good seafood places.  But the best is our house with steamed or roasted oysters.  We go out in the boat in the morning, get the oysters and have a great afternoon.  That with our low country boil makes for a filling day.  I got rid of my side firebox uprightsmoker and purchased the Traeger for the smoking and grilling capablity.  But I do know the Bradley is a great smoker as two friends have them.

Savannah, Just like I told you, this is a great place. Whatever you want to do with smoke is all here. Bacon, Sausages, Fish, Ribs, Butts, Briskets, Pastrami, Corned Beef, ect. Gosh I just made myself hungry! Better
get a snack!

I can see that, Smoking soon, and I am finding some helpful hints.  NePaSmoKer the next time you are in Savannah and want the fell of what the old seafood restaurants were like check out Desposito's Seafood Restaurant.  It is right across the bridge out of Thunderbolt.   Great food and the price is right.  The rest are to commercial and just not Old Savannah.

Welcome Savannah,
You won't find snobbery here.  Smoking is what counts the most.

I think next time NePa is in Savannah country, he will skip the commercial places and go straight to your house.    ;D

The steamers sound great but you will have to explain the "low country boil" for me.

Ok a low country boil. First you need an outdoor Propane Stove about 60,000 btu's.  Next an 80 quart. lots of water, crabl boil, old bay, hot smoke sauage, corn, lobster legs and fresh shimp.   Also a large long table with newspaper to dump it out.  We feed about 30 with it.
Almost forget lots of beer and liquor.

NePaSmoKer

Yeah Savannah

If my wife could transfer to the area we would be there in a heartbeat. What Traeger do you have. I have a Lil'Tex and love it.

Kind of like this then.

And this is why the table gets full of refreshments:
