I'm getting my OBS this Friday.

What does it mean to season it and how do you do it?

It's make pretend cooking! Load up some bisquettes, fill the water bowl, stand there like a proud smoker, beer in hand, smell the smoke, and say "this thing is pretty cool!" I think it's 5 pucks, memory bad. It's in the instructions. Yer gonna luv it!

Here is a link to a great post on the recipe site for taking care of the BS seasoning.

Seasoninig accomplishes a couple of things.

1. Make sure it works and you know how to work it.

2. Burn off any oils and other substances left over from the manufacturing and shipping.

It seems that the more it gets used and the darker it gets inside the tower, the better the food tastes. I seasoned mine twice before even putting anything in it.

Bradley just released the pre-seasoned unit. I've only seen it on Amazon so far (OBS-S).
Supposedly it's been seasoned for 20 hours with a mixture of bisquettes.
For any of the units, they just add $50 to the cost.
Or, the above statements might not be true at all.
Wonder how many I were realing in. Oh, I'm so bad sometimes.

Bradley does not pre-season any of the smokers

Well I see my feeble attempt at humor has gone awry.
Brian, sorry to have caused you to work on Christmas Day.
