I am thinking on placing a BPS smoke gen on an old OBS cabinet. Do you think it will work or will it be too much heat for the small OBS. Looks like i might have to do some mods on mounting it.

Get yourself a cold smoke box...it comes with a plate that adapts the BPS generator to the same mounting as the OBS generator for the cold smoke box, so it would probably attach it to the cabinet as well.

NEPAS, let me know how that goes. I'm thinking about using my BPS generator in a large box smoker myself.

Hey NePaS,
Tim has a good idea.  I just purchased a Bradley cold smoke set up and have one of the mounting plates Tim is referring to.  I will not have a use for that plate so if you would like to try it, PM me and I will ship the thing to you.  Won't cost you a thing.

This looks like an interesting project! I don't have the propane version and I can't find the specs on the burners at the Bradley site. I know there are 2 separate burners I believe, one for the pucks and one for the tower. Are you planing on using both? Or making it a hybrid, part propane and part electric?

I think Tiny is one the right track. I would take KyNola up on the offer for the adaptor and see how it works.

My pleasure NePaS.  Since Tim is shipping his mounting plate to you, if anyone else needs one of those mounting plates, let me know.  I've got one free for the taking.

What i have noticed with the BPS in the first 2 pucks dont burn all the way. The electric is powered by 4 AA batteries or 12v car plug in for the puck pusher. I think the flame is what makes the slide hot and starts smoking the pucks maybe under the slide?

This might turn into a fridge conversion using 2 BPS gens. Just so happens i have 2 old metal interior fridges  ;D

Here is an update.

My neighbor works for a local school dist. Last night he asked me if i wanted the SS warming tower  ;D I said yeah how big is it. Its about 6' high and holds the cafeteria trays with food to keep them warm. He said it dont work so they bought a new one. Its electric heated and he said it can probably be fixed easy. I told him what i wanted to do with the BPS gens and he is going to help me with it.

Score 1 for the nepas  ;D

Great find NEPAS.

I'd love to come across something like that.
