Collagen Casing Storage & Food Grade Grease

When i store my collagen casings i vac seal them.


I use this food grade grease on all my equipment.

That's a good point NePas.

I also lube up the grinder parts as well, mainly to prevent any rust forming.

Do the collagen casings go bad very quickly? I never used them before I made the last batch of snack sticks, so I just zip locked them and put into the fridge.

Just keep the collagen casings refrigerated in a ZipLok, and they should be good for as long as they are empty!! ;)

I'll vacumn them if I get a good deal on them and purchase alot and know I won't use them all in 4-5 months. Rarely does that happen though.
Otherwise they go in a ziplok in the frig.
