We ran today a simple janitorial help wanted Ad.  We fielded over 100 phone calls. I only have one opening.

olds, I understand that.  My group posted a job recently, looking for very entry-level Computer Engineer.  Fresh un-clutter mind with new age tech hunger.  We got somewhere over 150 applications.  And out of all of them.  One meet the requirements, on paper.  Most were seasoned people, many in no current job, but a good number of in-job current high-salary (100K+) in risky locations and companies.  That's a serious pay-cut if they met the requirements.  We are interviewing a few, but it is mind-blowing indeed.

Was talking to a friend of mine who works for Trane (heating and cooling).  He was at a school working on the computers that run the heating system.  Got to talking to the maintenance man.  Turns out the guy is a mechanical engineer who made in the 6 figures and is now working for $15/hour.  Times are tough for sure, my friends.

I tried hiring somebody a year ago and couldn't find anyone that was qualified enough, now I have two or three resumes a week laying on my desk, and thats without an ad in the paper.

And what is it that you do?  Cause if you're in need of a food tester or anything along those lines, then I am your man  ;D
