I hope every thing goes well for him and his family. And also hope that he is able to soon find a job within commuting distance from his home.

Hey all,

I was able to procure a used laptop.  Wanted to say thanks to all for all of the well wishes.  I still leave for North Dakota on Sunday but now I have to rent a car to get there.  Was going to take the train but they cancelled the train due to the flooding of the Red River so now I've got to drive the 17 hours by myself.

I'm optimistic about the job but apprehensive about leaving the family.  I will try to check in on here as much as I can but I have a feeling I'm going to be one tired puppy most days.  You guys have been such an awesome group to be a part of and I consider myself lucky to call you my friends.  Just because I won't be on as much won't mean I won't be here in spirit.

My best to all and the best I can say is that I'm back joining you as an employed man!

Marc

Where abouts in ND are you going to be?

Hey Mike,

I'll be staying in a little town called Overly (aren't most towns in ND classified as "little"?).  I think I'll primarily be working in Rolla and Rollete.  I won't be far from the Canadian border at all.  Do you make it down to North Dakota at all?  There's a great lake (Devil's Lake) that is renowned for the walleye fishing.  Maybe you can make it down sometime and we can hook up and go fishing.

Once past Chicago, are you taking I-80 or I-90?  If taking 80, hop off at Avoca IA on Highway 59, head North about 45 miles and stop on in.  I'll give you directions back to I-29 to head North to ND.

Guess it's time to print out the directions  :D  I think it's 80.

Thanks Tiny, I wish we could but we are going to be really tight for time so we won't be able to do it this trip.  If we end out that way again I'll make sure to plan for it.

I don't usually get down to ND very often but we have been wanting to get to Estevan SK for a number of years. It's about halfway between Overly, ND and Moose Jaw, SK, about 2.5 hours from Overly. Estevan is just past the Canada/USA border. There is 2 reservoirs there Boundary and Rafferty. Boundary has large mouth bass and is the furthest north body of water that they survive in North America. It's also the only body of water in Saskatchewan with Large Mouth Bass. Both reservoirs also have Walleye & Pike. If we ever get our act together and go this summer I'll let you know for sure.

Good to hear from you Marc. Glad things are working out for you. Stop on in on your way by but I believe your heading north on 90.
