Hi, nice forums and I will introduce myself and post a bit more when I have time. In the mean time I have one question. I just got BDS 6 rack for christmas and I am wondering if the "4 non-stick coated jerky racks" that bradley offers will fit in this smoker. I have looked at the dimensions and noticed that the sizes differ between a couple of the BS models.

Thanks in advance.
Luke

Hi fatluke and welcome to the forum.

They do fit but a number of members have had problems with the non-stick comming off. What I would recommend and what I use is the Jerky Drying Screens. They just lay in your original racks and work very well. You can get them from Bradley or from a few menmbers here on the forum. (BeGolf and Tiny Tim)

Cool. Thanks for the prompt reply. Do either of those members have a website they sell from, or what is the story? Glad I checked here before I purchased them. Regardless I still want some extra racks as well so I can invert and maximize space (as I have read about on here!!)

Mr Walleye

They both have web sites. Here is BeGolf25's but I can't find Tiny Tim's....

Thanks again Mr. Walleye..

No Canadian stores "eh"?? lol...

So if I want extra racks would you recommend buying the regular stainless steel onces, and then adding the jerky drying screens to the racks that are not inverted?? Or buy the non-stick coated ones, and when/if the non-stick comes off, buy the screens???

P.S. Now you got me started... I'll be on here asking questions all day........ Things like could I use my BDS in the cold Canadian winter, in a unheated garage??

P.P.S Born and raised on the Bay of Quinte, so I appreciate a name like Mr. Walleye!!!!

Hey... Another fellow Canuck! Me Too!

If you keep an eye on Canadian Tire they have sales on pucks fairly regular. They also have the regular racks. I wouldn't buy the jerky racks at all instead I would just buy another set of regular racks and 2 sets of the jerky screens. When I do jerky I always invert racks, 8 racks and 8 screens. You can use the screens on the inverted racks as well.

Here is a couple of posts on my setup in my heated garage:

Fatluke;
Welcome to the forum.

When I ordered my Bradley jerky screens, at that time Bradley would only sell them through their website. So if you are having trouble finding them at the sources Mike refers to, you may want to check out the Bradley website.

Thanks Habs, I just looked at BeGolf25's site and they are not there. Maybe if he sees this he will comment.

You can also buy jerky drying screens other than Bradley as well.  I am in the hunt right now for 12 of them.  I talked to a guy at a company yesterday and hope to be able to get some samples to try.  They make several different kinds of food grade non-stick grids from low temp to high temp (500 Deg).  I am looking forward to see how these work and what kind of prices they can offer.  I will post my results on the forum here if I get them (or the samples), they work well, and are affordable.
As for other brands, I have found several other sources with varying prices and sizes (you would need to cut them down).

Hey Luke,

First, welcome to the board.

Last time we checked for some reason Bradley was only selling the jerky screens off of their web site. They did not make them available to dealers. We do have plenty of the replacement racks and jerky racks in stock if you need them. I will check again first thing Monday with Bradley and see if the jerky screens are now available for us. If they are I will let you know. Let me know if you need anything else.

I ordered my screens from Allied Kenco. I had to cut them to fit and the fit is not perfect, but the cost was $2.05 each.
