I think after I cure the smoker, I am going to try to do some Canadian back bacon rolled in cornmeal. I like that stuff but I am hoping that I can do it alot cheaper than it costs to buy it already done. I live in Canada but pay a left arm to buy the stuff....... >:(

Here is a picture of the shelter that I have put alot of though into. I really want to start using this but it rains too much here. More drawings and photos to come as I proceed with construction.

It's what's inside that counts!!

Looks like you'll have enough square footage in there for several smokers.   ;D

I just bought the stuff to hard mount it in the shed. I managed to get some good weather today to season it and check it out a bit. Seems that I may need the PID as I have a hard time regulating the temperature.

I have a range hood and the plumbing for it. I am going to install it today. I will take some pictures. Anyone fill me in on if I am doing this right or wrong.

I have been running a range hood vented directly outside my heated garage for quite some time with no problems. Here are a few posts where I posted pictures and descriptions.

Here is a picture when I first installed it.

How does the hood hold up to the smoke?
Does it have to be cleaned very often?

Mr Walleye

Mine just has the wire mesh type filter on it. It's a fairly coarse material so I really only every once in a while.... maybe 3 to 6 months btween cleaning the filter. I really haven't had any problems at all with it.

I just finished my install ant test run. Works good for now. I will modify when ideas come to mind. Next is a cold smoke box!

Looks good mcanik!

I continiously keep doing mods on my setup. I think that's half the fun!  ;)
