I've never seen boiled peanuts at the store.  Maybe I just haven't been looking.

Thats how i normally got them but found these cans in a walmart in Alabama so now when i go south i stock up on cans and pouches. The peanut patch cans and pouches are the best i have found.

I used to buy 5 lb sacks of raw green peanuts to bring back and boil myself but it was a hassle.

I saw those all around Charleston, SC and most recently in Virginia..

Didn't bring any back as they are too heavy for luggage.

I grew up in Kentucky (go figger)...
But, my momma was born (and lives now) in Tampa.
When I was a kid, she boiled peanuts for us all the time...
(it was one of her FEW culinary skills)

Got lotsa family all over "SEC territory".
I reckon I wuz always partying when we wuz in the groceries (and just didn't see 'em)
But BP-IN-A-CAN is a new one on me...

Do ya warm 'em up when ya open 'em?

The ones in the can you can pot them and boil and the pouch you just open the top some and nuke em.

NePaS, in the pic of the cans and pouches I noticed at the top, some of them say Roddenbery's while some of them say Margaret Holmes.  Do you what the difference is?

Im from Georgia and love boiled peanuts! Unfortunately, right now I am stuck in Alaska and can't get them roadside. That would be a bit ridicules in the snowy, icy winters. Anyhow, I am not sure I have ever had them in a can...if I did would I be disappointed?
