Does anybody have a source that they have used and are very happy with for ordering spices and seasonings.
I am looking for a company that sells fresh, quality spices. I also don't want to have to buy 5 - 10 pounds at a time. If you have had success with a certain source please let me know! [:)][:)][:)]

Hi Doug,

If you look at the Sticky link (www.susanminor.org) under the Vendor section, there is a table listing 10-11 spice vendors that have been recommended by various Forum members. I think that will provide you with a great starting point (and probably an endpoint) for you spice vendor search.

Whoever you use for your spices, please let us know you experrience so we can update the info.

Chez Bubba

www.penzeys.com has never done me wrong.

I also believe we have a couple of forum members that sell a fine product as well.[8D]

There's another extensive thread on this somewhere.

Doug,

I'm fortunate to have two spice companies close to my home. www.americanspice.com// and www.suttonsbaytrading.com//. Both have good and fresh spices at a reasonable price.

My preference of the two is suttonbay trading they only prepackage pure spices, all blends or mixes are per order.

As far as their shipping, I can't answer since I go to their store, but I'm sure their service would be good.

I have an on going issue with AmericanSpice that is not yet resolved and just filed a complaint with the Indiana state attorney general's office. Wish I lived close enough to visit their store.

Penzey's is great and the employees are always very helpful. I live ten minutes from the original location so never had to mail order. There are now 21 locations around the country though mostly in the midwest, east and south.

I too have had great service from Penzey's and recommend them. Eldon's http://www.eldonsausage.com/ and Chez Bubba (well known to readers of this space) are absolutely above reproach. They represent service the way it ought to be.

Spice Seekers

I've had good luck from American Spice and Penzys. Also Pendrys. All good. Powdered worrchesterire and powdered honey are cool ingrediaents. Also powdered vinegar, good for rubs.[^][^][^]
