Really cold weather food

I was craving Mexican food and one of my favorites is 'Bistec a la Mexicano.'

I hammered this one hard!




Yeah, I wimped out and broiled it. Shoot me. Plus my camper is still stuck in the yard and I can't get my Bradely out to even cook on it!!!!! Long story.


Simmer it all down until you like the texture and call it good. I added rehydrated ancho chilis to this one along with jalapenos, red and orange bell pepper, onions, and tomatos.


Plated with some Spanish rice and avocado.

Man all I had was a crummy ole bowl of Gumbeaux (roasted pork, chicken, sausage, shrimp), some rice, mustard potato salad, and a big glass of Ice Tea.

Beings our Buddy Ron lives where he does. I would be guessing he slipped on the three snow flakes that fell and slid his camper up next to a tree. Then there was a thaw an hour later and the trailer sunk in the resulting mud and pinned the door up against a tree. Thus resulting in Ron being SMOKE DEPRIVED!!! and Screaming "I WILL move farther south if I have to in order to never see a snow flake again!!!!" either that or he ventured north of interstate 20 and is having flash backs of his trip to Wyoming.

You done good Ron. Adapt and overcome ya got's ta eat man!!

My camper has been stuck since last Saturday. It's not really stuck, it's just that in order for me to hook it up to my truck I have to make it through a soft spot from those 3 snow flakes 10.5 was talking about, along with that 5" of rain below them!

I was backing it into where I keep it when my truck buried up. I unhooked from it and managed to get my truck out, then went and got my other truck and buried it also even in 4 wheel drive.

And since it is 23 degrees outside right now, I AM having flashbacks about my near death experience while in Wyoming!!!!

A really nice looking dish Ron. 

I haven't been smoking much due to the weather.  Then I read posts like from squirt, out smoking in a -60^oF windchill, barefoot, with stuck pellets.  I guess I'm just a wimp  >:(

I'm barely 'out' doing it - I just open the garage door to fiddle with it, then slam it closed and run back inside.    :D

My poor Bradley and Weber are stranded on their snowy island for the time being.

OK so let's here about the wyoming story?

Lets just say that my first breath of Wyoming air was at -26 near Opal. My body just locked up from the shock! My eyes froze open. My teeth hurt. I couldn't feel my legs. I thought one of my ears broke off at one point. THEN, I had to drive 25 miles on a Hockey rink at less than 15mph with locals zipping by me at 65 cussing my Mother. And that was after I found my car and fell down three times trying to get the ice off of it to see out of the windows. 14 days I would never want to re-live!!!!

And what I need to do is get off of my wallet and pour a driveway to back my camper onto.

 ;D ;D ;D Don't cha jus luv thems days. One time when I lived on the cattle ranch the wife and I were headed for town to get some grocerys. I was driving a 76' dodge ramcaharger with A/Ts for rubber, so fairly wide. We were bombing along on dry pavement like nobodys business(55mph). Iwent around a few corners and it felt like I was getting a flat tire. So I pulled over to see what was up. I opened the door got both my feet on the pavement, the next thing I no I am under the truck. The roads were black ice and you couldn't tell. No falt tire but if I had hit one of those corners wrong the old A/T's would have taken me on a ride I never would have wanted.
