Wow,

Nice looking cornbread and fowl.  And of course you used the right pan for the bread.

You can always depend on Ronbeaux to do it up right. Granny would be proud.

Good luck and slow smoking,

Can you make cornbread in anything other than a cast iron?

Looks mighty good ron.

Yes, but what would be the point?  It wouldn't be the same (and don't forget the bacon grease).

It all looks good Ron.  Did you finish up the chicken breast in the smoker or elsewhere?  The skin looks good.

Where there's smoke, there's food.

That corn bread looks great. Any chance you'd share the recipe? I already have the cast iron pan, cornmeal and just need to know how to make a good one.
With my Bradley, no one tells me to quit smoking!

I used the recipe in the book 'Bread Bakers Apprentice" I used what I had on hand so it wasn't exactly like in the book. Fortunately it worked out OK.

That's my go-to recipe except I cut down on the sweetners since I don't like my cornbread sweet.  I think the cornmeal soaking in the buttermilk overnight is what makes it so moist.
