I have never made Moink Balls before last night. I always wanted to but just never got around to actually doing them. I was picked to be the Godfather for a friends new son and the Baptism is on Saturday. Since I can't do all the cooking for the special occasion. We decided that we would make some finger food that could be warmed up in the oven. ABT's and Moink Balls. So after filling all four racks with Moink Balls and ABT's and getting them packed away, and myself. Adult Beverages came into play so no pics. I tried a couple of them last night and they were great and will become a staple in my cooking. Iwas looking in the fridge this morning and realized I had some Italian meatballs left. Off to the store I went and got some more bacon. Here's what just went into the Bradley. Yes I seasoned them well.

They are great and so easy to make. I made them using sausage also.

So do you make these with a pre-cooked meatball or can a guy use like a bag of those premade meatballs thawed out or just some raw hamburger made up into balls?  I need to try this!

Nuge that's what I used a bag of frozen Italian meatballs thawed out and wrapped in BACON. About an hour before they are done I will put some BBQ sauce on the top of them and let it glaze on like you would do for ribs.

If you can't smoke it.....you don't need it!!!

There really isn't one.

I use the pre-cooked italian meatballs from Sams.

For a 6 pound bag of meatballs you will need about 3 pounds of bacon.

I put the (frozen) meatballs on a sheetpan and put them in a 350F oven for about 10-15 minutes.

I cut the bacon into thirds, you have to stretch it a little to get it around the meatball, secure with a toothpick.

I smoke at least 1 hour @225F.

I put them under the broiler after to crisp the bacon.

Just to toss in my moink balls and show there is no end to what you can do with them.  These are sausage balls that are wrapped in ground chicken and then wrapped in bacon.  These are known as winged moink balls since I used hot wing sauce in the recipe.

I left mine in there a little long Momma wanted to go for lunch. They were in there at 225* for 2 1/2 hours I wanted to pull at 2 hours. That's OK they still taste great.

Look a tad dark but they still look good. Maybe you need a flash on that camera?  LOL

I need to try them in a smoker instead of a Big Easy just to see how they would be.
What suace did ya' use if any, or is that the rub?

The rub and the I left them in there a little longer than I wanted to turned them really dark. I just used some plain Kraft Hickory BBQ sauce on top of them. They are not burnt in any way they are just really dark.

They all look good to me.

Some day I gotta try this Moink Ball thing.

Cant seem to remember to pick up some meat balls when I'm at the store, I really dont ever go down the frozen food isle.

You really don't need meatballs, I used some suasage balls I had left over from the day before. You know the ones everyone makes for Christmas time. I just used those because I had them and I like them better then meatballs.  Hey there you moink balls make them out of whatever you have, there are no set rules to this game just  enjoy what you make.
