Hi all, anybody ever done smoked rabbit?

I get a lot of wild rabbit, we normaly bake or stew them, but i often think about smoking some.
I think the job will involve lots of bacon as the meat would be very dry otherwise, i'm gonna experiment soon, and i'll post my results, but if anybody has done rabbits, advice would be welcomed.

Thanks LilSmoker

Hey thanks Squirt, very kind of you, i figured on using plenty of bacon, so i may well try the recipe with the bacon.

Or maybe use just the saddles from a few rabbits, as the saddle has the thickest meat and maybe won't be so dry, and i have access to plenty  ;)

Thanks again

I've deep fried a few whole ones in a turkey fryer and had them come out well.

I have done rabbit on the Weber, I use a beer marinade and a salsa type barbecue sauce and they come out great.  I am not able to get rabbit where I am at now so haven't tried one in the Bradley but the bacon would help no doubt.  Almost no fat on rabbit as you know so they do dry out quickly.  My mother used to make rabbit in the oven with barbecue sauce and it was very good.
