The subject of New England style hot dog buns was brought up by mikeradio ....

I made these in Bread Pans with a weighted cover. I cut off the ends and sliced them to size.

This first one is a Bacon (Pig) wrapped hot dog (Pig) and a wopple of pulled pork (Pig) on a toasted starter bun.

These were made with some pulled chicken and Col. Pooles BBQ sauce

Those sure look good CRG.  Buns look awesome!

I love the Pig triple play, but think I'd need to have side of Zantac to enjoy 'em.   ;D
I like animals, they taste good!

Gus is working on me some starter, so who knows what will be coming soon from one (or both) of us? I love yeast tasting bread and have tried several times to come up with my own Schlotzsky's style bun.

Maybe this will help? But if anyone has figured this out already, I'm the guy that wants to know! Because Schlotzsky's has the best buns in town!  ;D

They do have great bread..    Rare around here anymore.
