Friday Nite before opening Morning , We have a big Fish Fry at camp.

This year we did 30 lbs of Catfish filets, 15 lbs of Frog Legs. Also mass

quanities of French fries, hush puppies, onion rings and batter jalapeno

poppers. As usual the food was delicious.

We always have a fire by day .............

And a Fire at nite.

Saturday morn after the hunt we got the pig ready for the Cajun Microwave.

At noon we fire up the box and let it ride.

This year we added a twist to it....... a smoke pistol and 3 hours of Hickory. (just for you Larry)

At 3:00 we flip the pig and add more charcoal. At 3, I stopped the smoke.

The pig comes out after 6 hours.

Mustard, Turnips and Collard Greens.

Butter Beans.

And Sweet Bread! I did two of these trays of rolls and 4 loafs of Bread ans there was NOT a crumb left.

I got out 4 starters to guys at the camp.

Son shot a 8 pt Buck and I came Home with this...........

Field dressed 200 lbs. It was a cut Boar, gonna be some GOOD eats.

The Smoke Pistol turned that Cajun Microwave into a different cooker.

The pig was Fantastic!

Nice job CRG on all accounts!!

The hog looks fantastic!!   I lUV whole roasted hog, pretty hard to beat.

The inverted hog looks like a nice score as well, I have only had wild boar once but really enjoyed it.
What does "cut" bore mean, please excuse me , I'm a little "new".

Glad you had a good hunt a everyone returned safely!
Either Way....I'm Smoke'N It

Boar hogs in the wild get a shield plate that makes their meat "non-good" eats.

This boar was trapped at an early age and had his Man-Hood removed and then released.

They mark the pig by cutting off the tail and notching or cutting half of one ear off.

Dang, the pig looks so good and those turnips and collard greens.

That was the best pig we have had and that smoke pistol did a great job.

The smoke was the difference.

Reminds me of my brother in law.

Where there's smoke, there's food.

Glad the smoke pistol was all you hoped it would be.

As for cutting a pig ear and other parts..sounds like a crazy artist many many years ago

Glad I'm not a pig ... uh ... wild boar.

Been called a pig many times, as in "you Pig !"

Dang CRG.  Every time I read one  of your posts I think "man, I wish I could walk a mile in your shoes".  Or at least get to sample some of what ever it is your making.  As alway, looks good!

That "Shot" may have ended my Hunting season.

Going to Doc in morning for some stronger meds.

It's h*ll to get old.

TestRocket

Deer camp 2010 looked fun!

Sorry to hear you're hurting after that shot. Try a shot (or 4) of something like Patron. Maybe it will help?  ;D

Hair of the dog (or pig)  ... a shot for a shot, and no dilution.

That might have been my problem.

Maybe I was "TOO" relaxed when I shot. ;D

Gonna hang on the edge of the wagon for awhile.

Only "cooking" I did this week end was the Bread.

I was on strike!
