...and then there was one.

Glad y'all liked the andouille.  Wayne definitely knows how to make that stuff.

The weather remains beautiful here.  I spent the day at JazzFest with Jeff Beck, Robert Plant, some other pickers, a bunch of great food and too many cute young things to keep track of (which is just as well; they don't want to follow me home anymore and if they did, SWMBO would not be amused).  More of the same today and tomorrow, then a break to rest up before the next round.

Anyway, as already noted, it was a great Krewe meeting; we should do it again next year (the week of April 22nd).

The Andouille was very good! --- waiting on "Squirt Freight" to get the rest here (along with my 500lb share of goodies from Rick!)
In the meantime, I've been snacking on Hawaiian Wasabi Macs -- Whoa...  Olfactory systems are all clear  ;D

Hey Pat --- where's the other 9000 pictures?

I'll get them up when we get home.    The top corner room here at the Drury Inn has an impossibly weak WiFi signal.

Sausage is iced down and piled back in the car.

Headed to Graceland for a quick visit...

I got to tour the smoker at Wayne Jacobs on the way home. It is an old school shack that has been used since 1950.

Cool!
The fight isn't over until the winner says it is.

Anyways we rolled into Santee SC around noon and got some lunch.

After we drove across the parking lot to here.

Walking around the Piggly i seen these.

At the checkout i asked the cashier why did you guys stop selling the Piggly can coozies?

She said we alway got em....HUH. I been told they stopped selling them. She said we got em right here.

So i bought all 3 they had left. The Palmeto tree is on the backside.

Piggly Wiggly is a southern chain of markets. Been around for like 100 years.

I forgot to say that we stopped in Mariana Florida and i loaded up with some goodies at my old stompin place and with Piggly sauce  ;D

Made it home in one piece.  Last night on MS/TN border turned out to be a very interesting, somewhat entertaining and down right frightening event at the local Applebee's.  I'll let Pat fill in the details later but I will give you this much.  At the local Applebee's in Horn Lake MS, when they post the dress code it just says "wear Kevlar".  Bail money was definitely needed but not for any of us. :o

Once I gather my wits about me and get settled I'll snap a few pics of all of the goodies Jan and I brought back, both from our buddies of the Krewe du Smoke and the local Rouse's Grocery in the Quarter.  We came back with a lot more than what we started down there with. :D

Ah I see. The only place I went when i visited the southern states was Winn-Dixie Grocery Store. Birds where flying around the store like a zoo. Was wondering how they kept their food safe with all that bird poop.  ???

OK, here we go.  The first pic is of smoked meats.

And then there was rubs and jerky mixes and spices.

And then we went to Rouse's Grocery in the Quarter.

I left out the crab chips and fried pork rinds because the light was bouncing off the sacks too bad.

This was just what Jan and I brought home.  Pat and Hal have a load to post on here too!

Again, all I can say is thanks to everyone who came to New Orleans.  Every person is represented in the pics above because every person provided something in those pics.  Plus I just noticed I failed to take a pic of all the different sauces that showed up at Krewe du Smoke.  That was another load!  Sorry, a little tired.

What an incredible bunch we have on the forum.

NePaSmoKer

And the Starnes sauce Larry & Jan brought.

I will post pics later tonight. It's 3:00am and we are otr heading home

We rolled in around 8PM last night.    5.5 hours from Elvis' house to here.

The car was STUFFED.

Every square inch except for the front seats had something jammed in it.

And speaking of stuffed..  (and cured and dried and smoked)

There is much more out in the garage...   Case of CT, case (minus 1) of Cochon's Abita mustard, at least 7 bags of Meadow Creek BBQ rub, and much more in that pink cooler that I don't even remember.   And there are Utz chips and PA pretzels scattered all over the kitchen.

Hal, I'll probably re-freeze some of the sticks/sausages while we figure out when/where to divvy them up.
