Hi all,
I have had the smoker for a month now and have overcooked 2 rack of ribs and 2 loads of jerky.
Bought the Auber PID last week and through in a 7# butt at midnight. Thought I would keep it simple the first time.
Used Grill Mates Pork rub, in fridge for 30 hrs, set Pid for 220°f to an internal of 185°f with 4 hrs of apple wood.
It's been 10 hrs now and temp @ 168° and looks and smells great. Plan to FTC x 2hrs.
Will post more pics has it progresses.

OK, butt in the smoker 14.5 hrs to reach 190°, FTC'd for 2.5 hrs and OMG I've found a new passion. I may have to do one every
weekend just for the h*ll of it. It was still @ 165° and fell apart, good thing it was right after dinner or I would have eaten alot of it.
I'm going to treat my employees to lunch tomorrow. Couldn't have turned out this way without this forum, been browsing it for the last month for ideas and suggestions....Thanks People

Great job on your first butt!  I usually take mine to about 202* IT but looks like the 190* did you right

Thanks DT, I choose 190° because it was mid way in all the posts I read here. I thought I should apply the K.I.S.S. principal to my first attempt. Also it was the first time with my new PID and I think it needs to be calibrated or adjust offset by 5° or so.
Also Dt if you want a ° symbol hold Alt & hit 0176.

I hear you, I also have a home weather station that broadcasts data to various entities on the web and alot of those people
are anal about proper form, so now "°" is second nature for me.
