Smoke Ring in the Bradley ........... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I post these pictures, I want to warn you of some of the dangers that could happen.

A FIRE! When I did this I baby set my smoker the entire smoking process in case some-

thing happened. Nothing did, but it could have. I love my Bradley's and wouldn't want any

thing bad to happen to them.

SouthernSmokes and I talked about something similar to this back in October or so and then

we both got busy dealing with ailing Mom's. I had forgotten about it till I was up late one nite

reading old post and Hady had stated he had put charcoal inside his smoker. So I thought I

would try it this way and to see what happens. I was fully aware I was taking a chance and if

something bad happened, it would be my fault and not Bradley's.

My 6 rack-er is permanently hooked up to a cold smoke adaptor and as you know the hose

from the cold smoke adaptor pushes the cold smoke adaptor away from the Bradley cabinet

so the only heat that was transferred was thru the cold smoke adaptor hose. Actually the

cold smoke adaptor was very warm but not hot. I completely close up the hole where the

smoke generator goes into the cold smoke adaptor to help keep down the chances of a fire.

I took the water bowl and added 8 pieces of charcoal that were about 1/2 glowing from a

chimmney starter. To that I added two or three pieces of the mesquite wood and the smoke

started flowing. I didn't set out to try and create a smoke ring, I was more interested in what

it would taste like. Thru the 5 hours of smoke time I added 6 to 7 more pieces of charcoal

and wood as it would burn down. Ok, On to the PICS!

Now that I have done it, it won't be the norm for my Bradley smoking. I love the simple way that

the Bradley lets me smoke. Will I do it again? You bet! Just not on a regualr bases.

I wonder if using charcoal pellets right on the puck burner would do the same thing...  Hmmmm.

that will work, i have put one or two pieces of charcoal on the top edge of the v-tray before and got a smoke ring. but like you mentioned, keep an eye on it, would not want to cause a flare up.

It does look better than the pictures you sent me Sonny.

I would just like to remind folks as Sonny and I discussed it is NOT recommended that you do this. There is a high probability that you could have a fire in your Bradley as it is not designed for this type of usage.

Just dont want someone to try doing this with a homemade cardboard cold smoke chamber and end up burning their house down. Or starting a grease fire in their Bradley. Although it does look like a really nice smoke ring.

I call my Ins Co before I started and they said they covered fires from cookers.

Then it was on! ;D
