Probably no surprise, I have a few more questions.  I was looking through the manual today, and it gives directions on seasoning and preparing for first time use.  Any advice on this?  I was also wondering if there is any first smoke, that leaves little room for error as I get my feet wet with the new smoker?  Thanks!

Just follow the directions.

I think it states to get it to at least 150*

Chicken is probably the easiest first time smoke.

Just keep the vent wide open for chicken and keep the temp up (240 to 250)

Thank you for the helpful, quick reply.  My order from Auber wont be here until early next week it looks like, but I don't want to wait.

The PID is not necessary to use your smoker.

For the easiest smoke that gives you quick rewards is either chicken thighs or drumsticks. They are hard to ruin.

Many have made Smoked Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breast for their first smoke.
