25 LB of Pork Butt

I have to make some pulled pork for deer camp in 10 days, so I decided to get it done this weekend.
It is great smoking weather in Michigan.
I picked up a 10 LBer for deer camp, and threw in 2 7-8 LBers (one for dinner tonight, one for a friend whose kid loves my pulled pork).

Here is the before shot:

Started these at noon yesterday.
It has been 23+ hours, and two of the butts are at 194C, with one lagging behind (I did not rotate racks,as I wanted to minimize the number of times I opened the door).
I'll post picks of the finished product later today.

I Plan to pull and then freeze the 10 LBer.  No problems there right?

It was pretty great.

Now I smoked these for 24+ hours, and today I was planning on smoking ~3 LB of venison jerky.
The smoke generator is working Fine.  But the heating element is not.  Replaced with a spare heating element, still no heat.
So I am currently doing a cold smoke of the jerky, and will put in my oven after the smoke.
Any thoughts?
This is a Digital 4 rack.
The fuse is fine.  I reconnected all the exterior cords 5 times, still no heat.

The bark looks gooood and that there pile of pulled pork looks grrrreat.

You might want to install the drip tray correctly before you drip to much grease on the heat element and start a fire.

Good catch Brian. He may have found your problem. You have your drip tray upside down which channels goo onto the element. I would check your element, but I suspect it is toast. One of the guys can tell you how to test it.
I like to walk threw life on the path of least resistance. But sometimes the path needs a good kick in the ass.

Spent a couple hours cruising this sight on Monday.  I figured out that i had the drip tray installed wrong.

Well I don't think it is the element.
I replaced the element, and still no heat. I also took the back panel off and checked all the connections. Still no heat.
The original element has a resistance of 27.5 Ohms.
I will open up the smoker controller box next to check all the connections.

I would check your inline fuse in the back of the tower for continunity.

He has a Digital Smoker that temperature sensor is for the original smoker, and the sensor in the digital will not cause the no power to the element problem.

The sensor plug will also not cause the no power sympton that he has.
