I hope to head for a warmer area in about 3 weeks. Have been thinking about taking my DBS with me but
after seeing your post am looking at a portable Bradley.  Wonderful looking rib roast.

I have taken the Bradley portable a lot of places, I can tell you that it does not like wind. At all. There is no insulation whatsoever.

If you were going to do it over would you buy the propane model or a OBS for use when traveling ?  I have a small
motorhome and will be headed to FL for a couple of months.  Would like to smoke some fish etc while there.

I have a class C motorhome, there is no where I can put an OBS that would not annoy my co-pilot. The propane smoker fits well under the bed.

Temperature control on the propane unit is not all that great, I have only hot-smoked items where I just have it on FULL all the time.

If you have room for the OBS, it would probably be a better choice, especially with a PID.

Where are you going to be in FL? I'm in south east FL myself.

The aroma of oak smoke and beef was definitely present throughout our loop. I noticed it almost 250 yards away when I was coming back from the pool.

The people next to us had some kind of a vertical electric smoker, but I never saw it in operation. As a matter of fact, I never saw them cook anything in 5 days. There are lots of great restaurant options @ Disney, some of them pretty good. We had the African buffet at Boma (Animal Kingdom Lodge) for Christmas Eve supper.

Randy, looks like everyone enjoyed....I'm just thinking out loud here but I bet everyone around your camping lot wished they were part of the family.

Even if they could be a temporary extended family member for a day.

Thanks for the advice. Not certain which one I will get for the RV yet.  I will be on Pine Island from late January until mid March, if
everything goes as planned.
Have a Happy New Year.

Is it bad if my wife refers to the smoker as "The Mistress"?
