Well, time for the verdict:Although I am no BBQ Virgin,I am when it comes to the Electric.I cooked this brisket with Rudy's Dry Rub(www.rudys.com) and cooked it at 210-225 for 6 hours and then wrapprd it loosely in foil and cooked for another two hours at the same temperature. The brisket does not have the same smoke ring I am used to,but IT TURNED OUT GREAT!!!I can see another 10 or 15 lbs added easily! The only regret I have is I waited too long to buy this cooker.I am very proud to own this smoker and also to be a member of this forum. There is ton of information available at your finger tips,IT IS SO COOL!!!

It took me some getting used to as well Oklahomaotter...I was a traditional offset smoker user prior to getting my Bradley, so when I did my first few items and saw that the beautiful pink smoke ring was missing, I wondered if I was missing something or doing it wrong.

But as always, the flavors were dead on, and everything cooked to perfection. So after a little research I learned that the smoke ring is due to the chemistry of the charcoal as it burns, but it does nothing to enhance or change the flavor of the final product. As well, many contests tell their judges to not consider the smoke ring in the scoring...

Enjoy your smoker and welcome!

Right on the money Joe. Judges are not using the smoke ring for points up here either. There are very few folks using the offset smokers anymore for the contests. The wood cost to much to ship up here to do it. I still have mine and like to use it for summer picnics though.
quote:

Smokin Joe,
I see you are a member and I take it you own or manage Caroline's Rub. If a couple of members use your products and recieve excellent service and post that they did I will be glad to add you to our Approved Vendor's list on our recipe site. [^]

EDIT: Your site has pop-ups and both of my pop-up blockers kicked in. I'm sure the information from them is important to you to get out. However, pop-ups can be hacked and that is why more an more programs are blocking them. In my case the two are Win XP and Ad-Aware SE Plus.

Very much appreciated Oldman...I would love to see Caroline's on your vendors page. Much like Chez Bubba, it is more important to us to have a long term customer than a quick one time sale, so we work really hard to see that our customers are happy and satisfied.

I hope my signature hasn't offended or been seen as an attempt to spam or draw attention away from the purpose of this board or my actual intent for being here, which is to share some great information, a few laughs, and learn a lot from the fine folks in this forum.

Thanks again, and I'll tell you what...drop me an email with the names of 3 members you think would be good judges of the product (and who wouldn't mind participating), along with their mailing information and I will see that they get some samples for testing.

BTW, the pop up is simply a box offering signup for our newsletter. It is not external to another site or for sales...

Joe,

With an attitude like that, you'd have to have a porn link in your sig for me to object![8D] That pretty much surmises the reason 99% of us are here.

Glad you're better & back,

Kirk

smokingJoe, Also on the Mac Platform, with Safari Browser, the built in pop-up blocker easily ignored them for me. I never knew they existed till olds mentioned something about them.

Many folks don't understand how to nestle tags. Nice job....

Smokin Joe,
Welcome to the forum!
The first thing I noticed on your site was the smoked salt.
If you send out samples to anybody I would like to suggest that you include a sample of the smoked salt. That was a hot topic here for awhile. A lot of members were trying to perfect it.
