I got my Starter in the mail when I got home from work tonight.  I put it in a glass container with one cup of warm (110) degree water and allowed to sit for 45 minutes in a warm location.  Then I stirred in 1 cup of King Arthur Bread Flour and 1/4 c. sugar and cover it with a plastic cap and set it in the oven with just the light on in the oven. Can't wait until morning to see what it looks like then.

That is so cool. Sonny's should be written up in the history books. After all he figured out how to ship Nitroglycerin (live bread starter)as safely as TNT(dried starter).  ;D ;D ;D
I like to walk threw life on the path of least resistance. But sometimes the path needs a good kick in the ass.

Those are some happy bubbles indeed!!! Glad to see that your starter has taken so well to it's new home.

Yes, my Husband made it into rolls and bake them this afternoon.  He has a covered dish that he is taking them to this evening.  He said that he did take pictures so I will post those when I get home from work in a little bit and hopefully still have one or two of them for me to try.  According to him he said that they weren't any good...  that they were so light and fluffy that you couldn't tell you were eating anything....  Of course he said that they were so bad that he had to eat a second one to confirm it.....  Can't wait to get home and try them.

Husband done good! Did he leave you one like you ask?

HSC5690

I think he left me a half a dozen.  One of the sure tasted good with some honey and butter on it.

Sonny's Sweet Bread was a big hit at the Covered Dish that my Husband went to last night.
I took the other two starters out of refrigerator last night and warmed them up.  I fed one with King Arthur Bread Flour and the other one I fed with Sams Club Bakers & Chefs Bread Flour. Let set overnight in the oven with the light on. The one with the BC was not quite as tall in the bowl as the KA but it was also farther away from the light, I checked the temp of both bowls and the BC was 2 degrees cooler that the KA. So I am sure that was the difference there.  I Stirred them both down and took back my 1 cup of starter and placed in a quart jar and left set on the counter while I finished mixing in the other ingredients into up.  When I put the lid on the Starters I could not tell any difference in the two starters, both had grown about the same amount.

Thanks for the info. I am going to pick some flour up from Sam's
next trip there and give it a whirl.
