I was running low on Jan's rub and was going to smoke some chicken.
So I reached for a bag of Rebel Rub, which is made and sold by Rebel Butcher Supply, a local business here for 50 years. I had equal amounts so I mixed them together.
Sherrie, walked in about that time and said I know you didn't just ruin the Jan's rub? I explained the situation and said maybe it will be fine. Well my chicken was wet and rather than dry and dust, I placed it in a 2 gal zip lock and added the rub what I came up with was a sort of brine paste liquid . Left the yard bird in it for two hours and then three hours of hickory smoke @
231*. Well the next words from Sherrie, were the best damn chicken I have ever eaten. You better remember exactly how you mixed it. Sorry Kynola, never intended on messing with the Jan's.
