Can I expect to be able to completely cook most meats in the bradley smoker without having to finish it on the grill or in the oven??
I am hoping to have enough cash to get my Bradley smoker in a couple of weeks.

Hi Tim and welcome to a really fun place.
I think your going to find that a lot of what comes out of your new smoker is going to be a personal call as to whether or not you want to finish it off on the grill. Ribs I like to just sauce and spritz then FTC and eat them. Ann on the other hand likes to skip the FTC and toss them on the grill for a short time. Pulled pork and briskets really don't need to go near a grill. Chickens are again either way. Hab likes to hit them with a little heat at the end as I do to crisp the skin up.
Corn, meatloaf, ABT's etc are great right out of the smoker.
You can sort of see it's going to be whatever your in the mood for at the time.
Hope you have fun whatever you decide. Keep us posted though. Enjoy!!! ;D

My short experience with the BS D is much as iceman states. Really the only time I finish off the BS is when I want a crispyer crust or skin.  Just another rambling thought... A week or so ago I smoked some burgers for flavor and put them on the grill to cook... better smoke flavor and a lot easier than the little wood chip boxes. Pretty tasty!

I have tried smoking different things in my BS and rarely do any further cooking. Turkey breast is wonderful.

Memorial Day weekend we had a party to celebrate wife's birthday and I smoked a pile of baby back ribs as well as a bunch of beef back ribs. I prefer ribs dry but some folks like some sauce so some racks I put on the grill to glaze them. One variation that went over well was smoking a couple BB slabs with no rub then hitting them with teriyaki sauce on the grill.

Tim of S,

I think you can cook ANYTHING all the way, the talk you here about finishishing on the grill is like what ICE said, it comes to personal preference.  The meat that I finish on the grill is Chicken and Ribs, I like a bit more crispier skin with the chicken and I like GLAZING them both with my favorite sauce.  With the Bradley AND other smokers like it is that Chicken skin doesn't come out REAL CRISPY but there are PLENTY of folks like it just the way it is.  HTH....and WELCOME!!!
