Thanks for the kind comments manxman.  We all have our special talents, and comedy is not one of mine.  I freely admit this but for someone to make an attempt to belittle me for it is uncalled for.

What irritates me is the high and mighty attitude that some folks develop when they become popular by sharing their years of experience or training with others.  They tend to go out of their way to belittle the less popular blokes.  In my 30 plus years in the legal profession, I have never intentially talked down to someone that knew nothing about the law.

My apologies to all for venting here on the forum but I really needed to get it out.  I am very greatful that the marjority here are like family.

Hey Wildcat, sometimes i think with forums stuff that is typed can be taken the wrong way, as opposed to hearing a spoken voice with expression etc. I don't know if this was the case in this instance?, but i think generally sometimes wires can get crossed, but i think i speak for everybody here when i say that we all respect each other, and wouldn't intentionaly hurt one and others feelings.

Also being a comedian ain't always good, a while back the wife and i were at our friends anniversary party, anyway somebody said to me how lucky i was to have such a lovely wife. Well i wasn't leaving it at that, so i said yeah and i'm also a great husband. Well then my wife said oh yeah? why exactly? so i tell her.........

I'm your best friend.....she says yeah

I'm your soulmate......she says ok

I'm your rock.......she says true

I'm your shoulder to cry on......she says awwww

I'm a great lover!.......she mumbles something.....you forgot one......you're also a comedian! :o  ;D

Cute Rat! :D

LilSmoker - Yeah, I get you drift.  Seems like it was not that long ago when I said something very similiar when a couple of other guys were having words here on the forum.  Perhaps I should practice what I preach.  Thanks friend.

I think I may just be a little to sensitive and irritable here lately.  I recently developed a buldging disc in my lower back.  For the last 4 weeks I have been very limited in what I can do because of the pain.  Doing stretching exercises and taking steriods by mouth and will soon get an injection.  If these things do not work it looks like surgery may have to take place.  That worries me some because I have had friends that did not do so well after the knife.

My apologies NEPAS for jumping the gun and being judgemental.

I thought your joke was funny, just didn't say anything about it...then once everything hit the fan, I was scared to, and really didn't know what to say.  Glad it's kinda sorta straightened out for now.

On your disc issue, have you talked to a sports therapist or anyone mention that.  A few years ago my wife ended up with a bulging disc and a herniated disc. (and possible other bulging discs)  MRI showed both quite severe.  She was in some severe pain but not as much as the Dr thought she should be in considering her condition.

We talked with a good Chiropractor who also did Sports Therapy to major regional sports teams (Baltimore Ice Hockey team).  Key was ice therapy to reduce inflamation and rolling stretched and frequent therapy to stretch and reduce pressure on the disc.  We were also highly concerned of surgery.  But now a few years later.  No issue and no surgery.  Yes, the herniated disc is still present and there is some things she cannot do.  Like mulching, which was the activity that made the issues explode.  Repetative motion one side dominant with heavy weight.

My suggestion is to seek out a well respected Chiropractor who also does sports physical therapy.  It works.  I went to the same guy for whiplash and I have no issues.  We been there.    FYI, even how you sleep will agrivate it.  No back or stomach and use knee pillow.

Rat, Tiny, Habs - Thanks guys.  Was wondering if I went too far with the joke.  I have been a professional for many years and only retired this past October and I should know better than to let something so insignificant get to me like that.  I am sorry fellas.

IKW - I am on the stretching exercises.  They do help to some degree, the steriod pills helped a lot and I have hope that the injections will be even better.  Heat, especially before the exercises seems to help alot.  Will try the cold packs.  Can't hurt anything.  Still exploring the options.  It is my understanding that they have really advanced in the surgical area also, if it comes to that.  Thanks for your input, I will explore all posibilities before the knife.  Injections have helped with my heal spurs, so I have high hopes in that area.  I suspect the golf has brought all this on and with luck, when it gets under control, proper exercises will prevent another problem like this.  Golf, RVing, and smoking is the life I want as my retirement job and as a general rule I manage to achieve my goals.

My son (22) has a herniated disk as well.  Been through the therapy and roid shots in the spine.  No help.  Saw the specialist Wednesday and verdict was, surgery or live with the pain. :(

Sorry to hear that Gizmo.  I am 55 so with natural degeneration it is understandable, but 22?  With luck his young age will prove to be an advantage.

I hope so too.  He loves sports, golf, soccer, softball.  Suspect he over did it.  He was playing soccer every Saturday night, 2 to 3 games of softball on Sundays and sometime football on a light weekend along with a round a golf (was near a even par golfer for a while).  Now he just watches when he is having a "good" day.
Best wishes for all the disk challenged folks as well.
