Let my ham dinner is in the toilet now

The ham that I T-shirt smoked and posted about is now no longer Sunday's dinner.

It seems my Mother forgot to renew her car tag. So she gets pulled over. Next it turns out that there is a warrent for her arrest for having a dog at large. David her dog was good at escaping. Plus he was a very dangous (sic) dog of 14 pounds.

So now as I'm writing this out I got 2 more hours to wait before I can bail out Mother. During that time they told me she would be sripped searched at the police station then taken to the jail in another location.  Yepper a hell of a way to treat a 74 year old woman.

BTW here is the pic of the ham now that it is done. The sauce is to die for!

I'm sorry DoW.  That sounds like a country song.  Momma's in the slammer and we are eating hamma!..Again I am sorry that I had to laugh.  Poor Mom. Must be a slow day in Florida for the police!

Well 11pm and back at home at last. It seems this county is pro-active.  Before they would release her they ran a full country wide warrent search to in include the Virgin Islands.

My best friend is a detective on the local PD. Understanding what he's been through, it's not out of the realm of possibility that your mother could be packin' heat because she's got a kilo stashed in the trunk.

<b>Instant disclaimer:</b> Olds, I do not remotely suggest that your mother did or would. I'm just saying they don't know your mom from some potential kook who we all know is out there.

I want our officers to keep themselves safe because I believe they do a great service to us all and are very underpaid for risking their lives everyday. Same thing with the FireStuds!

That being said, it really is a conundrum, as knowing my 83 year-old gramma had been handcuffed would exact the same emotion from me.[]

Ya sure...right next to her cookies she had baked for Sunday's dinner. In fact they never even searched her car...how I know is her 9mm and ammo where still in the car.

I have two friends who work on the same police force as the ones that handcuffer her. Long time friends and I have an idea of what you are saying. As I said they did not even search her car so I'm not even going to go down this road of a pistol packin' grandmother. Or allow it as a reason to treat her in this manner.  Maybe your thought line justifies this type of action with some folks and yourself,  but all I can say is it bites.  And with that said we are miles apart here.

Like a large family, we all tend to cojole, tease and otherwise hassle each other.  Perceived insensitive comments like the one I made was only in jest, and I want to apologize to you.  I hope you will stick around.  Moms seem to be the one area that I guess we can't tease each other about, and I am sorry that I made light of the situation that caused so much grief for you.

Hope Mom is OK, pissed, but ok, and hope you call the press to question your local P.D.'s handling of this situation.  A reporter there might dig into this a little more, and perhaps give the P.D. a little heat publically.

Sooo Sorry Olds,

My thoughts are with your Mother, no "person of age" that has simple outstanding issues should never be treated like that.  This is not Balouja.  I am so tired of the way people thing of old folks, last night I saw commercial from "Staples" for digital cameras and they showed an older women trying to take a picture with a stapler.  For a very breif moment this may sound funny, to me it's just disrespect.  Those people of that age is the generation that made it possible to live like I do know.  I sure could get off on some social issues right know, but I will refrain.

Hey all let's just move on. We are "Pen-Pals" and nothing is going to change that.

I did talk with two more officers who handled my mother later after her booking and they both told me that the 1st officer should have just let us know and not have locked her up.

Their other unkind comments about the original officer I will not add to this posting. That will be addressed in an environment of my choice.

When in the past I've had to deal with items I will tell you this: those whom I've addressed did not see me coming till I was gone. Today Mother's doctor has had up her meds to the maximum allowed by law to help mother with her pain, (heavy duty stuff) and put MOther back into a walker do to restictive nature in which my Mother was treated. Her doctor does not know yet what happened Sunday. Again this will be at a time of my choice. Believe me this matter is not over with on my end. By what is right they will not see me coming till I'm gone and I will eat their lunch. Take it to the bank, this is not over with by a long shot.

OK, now that we have a rogue on our hands, my position changes completely. (Here's where you called & interrupted my thought process.[]) If other officers dispute his actions, then go get him.[!] I have seen the same type of thing corrupt the populace projection of the force & it needs to be removed. One bad apple can't be allowed to spoil the batch.
