I am still pretty new to this and I just bought a pork loin and want to try smoking a portion of it. I would like to try something with bacon if this is possible and I don't know what flavor of biscuit to use. If anybody has done this before or has any good recipes it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ole

Welcome easyridinole

The first pork loin I ever smoked was inspired from a post by BigCatDaddy

http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=7544.0

I just rubbed lightly with brown sugar and smoked over apple wood. Check out BigCatDaddy's post, hes got some pictures of it. Using his temps and such, mine came out so tender and juicy that Ill never bake a tenderloin in the oven again.

Hope this helps

So all you did was rub it with brown sugar and smoked it? That seems way to easy! This forum deal is the coolest thing ever!!

Thanks,

Ole

SHHHH... Smoking is a very complicated and tedious task that requires constant attention and adult beverages.....  ;) ;) ;D ;D

I can't wait to try this! Just don't tell my wife how easy this is and I will keep the boys and girls at Miller Brewing from being laid off!  :)
I wish I had bought one of these smokers years ago. Deer hunting is coming up fast and I can't wait to try making my own stuff.

Thanks again for everyones help,

Ole

You can go the real easy route, use the McCormicks Grill Mate Pork Rub, [easy to find] lay some strips over the top. During the last hour or so of cooking baste it with some slightly warmed pure maple syrup. Gives it a nice glaze. I use a mix of Maple and Hickory for this.
I pulled it a 145 and wrapped in for for a bit. Yum! This was a pork loin, not a tenderloin.

Thats it. Just lightly rubbed with brown sugar 'dark brown' and smoked over apple wood for a sweet out come with the pork. My father and I get in the mood for a sweeter pork at times. I'm still new to smoking and keep it pretty simple for now; adding alittle experimentation here and there since I joined this home here.

Best advice though, listen carefully to the masters here. Theres some major pro's here you can definatly learn from or be inspired by. Be it from recipes to elaborate cold smoking set ups. And everyone is very friendly. Seems more like a family here then a forum.

I joined not to long ago and have learned alot from reading the library of older posts here. Its kind of like the Library of Alexandria of smoking here  8)

Enjoy!

Ole,
First, welcome to the forum.  Lots of folks here to help you.  They teach me something pretty much everyday.

Second, please hold it down about how easy this smoking thing really is.  Your wife is liable to find out how easy it really is and blab to all of our spouses and you are going to ruin a good thing for many folks all over the country.  Brewers and distillerys all over are depending on you. ;)

Mum's the word,

KyNola, that reminds me of my first pork butt where I said to the wifey, "you better go on ahead to the mall without me, cause I have to watch the smoker" I should write the CEO of Bradley and thank him! I hate malls!
