That's why I dehydrate on the deck. Never really gave it a thought when you said you were going to dry in the oven. Sorry about that, I should have known that would happen. I also grind the dried peppers outside. Well on the bright side.... it should keep your sinus' open.  :)
You do have the exhaust fan over the stove running? Right?

Well, we have a house that was built in 1900.  They didn't think to put the oven in a place where a hood would come in handy.  Fortunately, I was the only one in the house for a very long time.  Now, I have a window open and the yardapes haven't complained yet.  However, the wife isn't home yet  :o

For an attorney, you're pretty dang funny.  Hopefully, you're a defense lawyer......it's be nice to have one that I call a friend!  ;D

Mostly, I do business litigation work, which usually means that each party has both affirmative claims and defense claims (a weird kind of multiple personality disorder).  So if I seem schizzo, now you know why.

I never understood those lawyers who feel the need to be jerks.  Certainly doesn't get them any favors from folks and probably does a disservice to their clients more often than not.  Much better to disagree without being disagreeable.  At least that way you can start to build consensus on some issues, which may set the table for an amicable resolution.

Gotta keep that sense of humor active: once that's gone, you've lost one of the biggest joys in life.

Cheers!  And thanks for the compliment.

I've always enjoyed attorneys.  I really gave it serious thought when I was in college.  Even after getting my bachelor's degree, I gave it real serious thought but decided I wanted to follow in my forefather's footsteps and serve in the military.  I don't ever regret that decision but wish I could have done both.  I think alot of attorneys get stereotyped, but I know lots of doctors, business owners, dentists, you name it, that are jerks.  I don't think attorneys have that market cornered.

I think life is what you make of it, regardless of what you do as a profession.  My brother is a police officer and that has made him a little cynical and a little distrusting of people but he always tries to find the best in people when he meets them......off the job.

I really have got to get together with you sometime, swap some Italian stories and share a brew.  I can tell I would be the better for it.

SD: about 5 or so of my classmates wound up JAG.  My favorite JAG story is about the former cheerleader classmate who found herself off the straights of Hormuz (sp?) advising the admiral of a carrier group as to whether or not he could board/inspect certain vessels.  Let's see how that adds up: old boy network, only woman on the bridge (I think she may have been the only woman in the group), tense situation, leader looking for advice on international law that can have international impact... So, what's the answer?

As to getting together, I think that would be a great idea.  The biggest trouble is finding a good time and place.  If you work your way out to San Francisco, I think you'd like North Beach (pretty much SF's answer to Little Italy, but not nearly as big).  There's a club known as the San Francisco Italian Athletics Club where I used to be a member before I moved to the central valley.  Great place, although the athletic days are mostly gone.  When I joined with a couple of buddies, the average age dropped to about 75.  Now, about the biggest athletic events are lifting heavy plates of food, playing cards, and watching sports on TV.  A bunch of old guys watching Italian soccer at 3 am (potluck food), with strong opinions about everything, expressing them in half Italian, half english.  And complaining because drink prices were raised a nickel.   :)  Big dinners for the guys first Tuesday of the month, big lunches last Friday of the month, and a series of dinner/dances in between.  The club has a lot of character, but with the changing North Beach demographics and advanced membership age, I fear it is on the way out.  http://www.sfiac.org/

In any event, if we can find a convenient time and place, I'm onboard and look forward to that occasion.

Buon Natale.

When I get another job (hopefully soon), I'm gonna take my wife on a trip (2nd honeymoon).  I'm gonna make it SF.  Never been there and would love to go.  We can set up a smoke-out and the wife can go shopping till her hearts desire.

The athletic club sounds awesome....I know what you mean about bringing the age down.  Before I lost my job, I joined the golf club across the street from me; it's private but a lot of older players (they always wanted to bet me and I joked it was the only way I'd see any Social Security money was by taking it off of them).  Your place sounds like what my grandfather used to take me to when I was a really small child.  He lived in Brooklyn and it was the greatest place to go to.....everyone treated me like a little king.

I swear as soon as I get a job, I'm there.  If you're ever in need of a good investigator, let me know.  Used to do a bit of it in the military.

We'll definately find a way to make this work.  No shortage of good food in SF.

Good luck with the job thing and make sure to enjoy family during the holidays.

Thanks, Sigs.  Same to you.  Best of the holiday season to you and your family.  We're kind of up in the air right now......my wife's grandfather is not doing very well at all and they're not sure if he'll make it to Christmas, so our plans are really up in the air.  However, the holidays are about family to me first and foremost.  Enjoy that little on of yours....before you know it, they grow up.  Spoil 'em good I always say....they pick your retirement home  ;) ;D
