Hey if I could check on the smoker from my cell phone on long smokes that would be great.

Isn't that a phone call to better half?

Yeah that is soooo true, I call my wife or kids, if the wife is with me, like every 25 minutes to check on the temp because I don't have my controls hooked up yet.

I had a wireless network cam looking at my smoker a couple years ago. Giz helped me set it up. It had an IP addy so everyone could watch. I guess its time to do it again.

Hey Nepas you could probably leave that cam running 24/7 considering how much you smoke.  I figured you must not sleep or not work.   :D

Somehow, that doesn't surprise me!  I love the philosophy!  Sometime soon, I'm building a big, trailer mounted smoker.  And luckily I have a buddy who is an expert in HVAC controls.  We are gonna collaborate, and that thing is gonna do everything but sing!

Some people are like Slinkies... They're really good for nothing.
...But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

The wisest thing that anybody has ever said about me, (well except for those women in Dallas who said I was butt-ugly) was a choir director that told me that I couldn't sing and I gave up guitar for baseball after 6 lessons.  So, I guess I'm off to try to find a heat resistant speaker to install in "big Raquelsophiamaureenadrienne" when I get her done!  I need something that can pump out the Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.  Thanks for the idea UIS!
