Yeah, We moved here in 1978, there was 1 gas station, 1 hotel and 2 golf courses. It's grown up a little since then. I left the nest in '83 to join the US Navy and see the world. Spent some time In Charleston, SC before moving back here in '93 to be closer to Family.

SmokinHotMama,
I have only been to Erie one time, a good friend was getting married and now lives in Erie. They are both school teachers. Another friend from this area goes to Erie a lot during the year, he has a nice boat and goes out the 'channel?' or the 'trench?' I do not remember what he called it but he really catches a lot of nice walleyes. I've been hinting to try to get top go with him sometime.
The only boat I have access to is a pontoon boat and there is no way I'm even thinking about taking it to Erie. Some day I hope to get there.

Let me guess, now there is 1 gas station but it has a convenience store inside, 10 hotels, and 150 golf courses with homes on every fairway. ;D ;D

Steve, you're exactly right. I was born on the WV side, then my parents moved to the VA side, then when I went out on my own I went to the WV side. Now I'm doing the same thing in another border town, Bristol, TN/VA. I've been to Flat Top many times. Used to go up there (very close by, at Winterplace) and ski.

S Duck, Very nice to see you posting again. Hoping things are returning to more of a state of predictable calm for you.
Hey Duck! Welcome back to the board. Are things any more settled for you? Have you fired up the new Bradley?
Terry
Thanks Terry and WCK. Life is getting back to some sort of normalcy (whatever that is ;)). However, Terry, we do not use the word fire around the house anymore ;D. However, I was able to do some Boston Butt over the weekend. Am planning on doing ribs and some ABT's this weekend. Will definitely be getting back into smoking hot and heavy real soon. I have a lot of lost time to make up for and my heart got way too healthy not eating smoked foods.
Duck,
Welcome back man. Glad your world is beginning to come around to "normal", whatever the heck that is. Missed your wit and wisdom, except for that Steelers endorsement. ;D
KyNola
Hey KY, you really know how to lubricate a person (hee hee). I prefer to think of the Steeler endorsement as one of the wisest things I ever say. It sure is good to be back amongst friends.
I'm from Central Iowa and fairly new to all this. I get my SSDB tomorrow. TinyTim, where you from in west central Iowa? I grew up in those parts, Carroll County.

Not yet Ken, but we did eat there a few weeks ago. Barbecue takes on a whole new meaning after doing a few great ones in the Bradley. The best BBQ restaraunt around just doesn't taste that great after you do your own the way you like it. I find myself eating at a BBQ place now more to critique and compare to my own than to get a great meal... ;)
I plan on trying a pork shoulder this weekend. I have made a corned beef brisket, some smoked cheese, and a couple of great batches of sausage.
You on the Virginia side? I'm up at Doe River Gorge in Hampton

Other than a manly game of putt-putt, I've never played the game in my life, LQ. :D
Golf? That is such an easy game. The first time I played I was probably 12 years old. My uncle game me his old set of clubs. Of course they were way to big for me but I was determined to shoot a round just to see if I want to continue to play as I had always wanted to. Shot a 61 and never went back. Never got a set of clubs for my size as we didn't have the money. I don't know what the big deal was about the score but oh well.
Lubbock TX here!!!! Westex... we may be neighbors?
OH Yea good old Lubbock, yep two guns up!!!!!!!! OK don't shoot me I like the longhorns....but what you want to be, an aggie....LOL....... GO TECH!!!!! Look good this year!!!!! TTU
Giz...first time I ever played golf...I won a tournament at our church (real golf)!! my caddiy was my Irish grandfather...he was sooo proud!!! I've always been a basketball, softball, volleyball kinda girl...golf is too heady!! But a "61" Giz? HOLY COW!!!
O gee, Sorry LQ,
I forgot to mention, it was a flat course.
And only 9 holes. ::)
