Did find this link offering individual tech support, US based but would no doubt have access to both US and European technical specs?

Yes many companies are reluctant to share service manuals, by maybe they would at least give you specific information such as this?

Welcome to forum! Hello, lovely to see you. If feasible, contact the manufacturer for BS1019 cables with connectors. They typically have replacement components. Hirose connectors may also be available at Digi-Key or Mouser. Depending on your interests, antique equipment forums can be a goldmine for finding hard-to-find parts. Good luck with your repairs—I hope your BS1019 works soon!

Thank you for reply manxman!

Yes, this unit is out of warranty. I understand and as in most cases it can be quite difficult to get access to service manuals. I found some spare parts at bradleysmoker.se and will soon place an order and I will also send them an email about a service manual, but guess they will keep it "in house". The temperature sensor for the bisquette heater had really low ohm values, not knowing what they should be, so I guess the smoker might think that the plate is real ... real hot!

Perhaps more likely the European importer of Bradley Smokers will be able to help with this request, I am not aware of anyone having access to service manuals here on the forum?

Grakka, a UK based company are the European Importer so they could be a point of contact?

Presumably the unit is out of warranty.

Welcome to the forum E-tronic, nice intro.

Hello again!

I have dissassembled the bisquette heater in order to measure both the elements and the temperature sensor.

The two elements – as the manual state 2x100 watts – has each 145 ohms so I guess they are connected in series and controlled by a relay as well as a SCR.

The temperature sensor reads about 238 ohms at 20 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. It seems on the low side, but can anyone share how many ohms there should be?

Is there by chance possible to access a service manual for this BS1019EC modell?

Thank you!

Hello everyone!

Thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself so here goes. I am retired since two years back and before that I was teaching in automotive electronics, engine management and measurement techniques at an upper secondary school.

I have more than 35 years of experience in electronics and to name one area and that is, besides communication equipment and thousands other, with GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar).

My hobbies has always been electronics as well as amateur radio - for those who know what that is. At present I repair most stuff for the school I worked for and latest object from them is a BS1019EC that has a non working biscuit heater.

I have already started a new thread about this smoker so I think the very best is to continue there with my findings and questions, but ... only one question and that is if there exists a service manual for this model BS1019EC?

Hopefully I can help someone out there!

Thank you and all the best from 70 km South of the Arctic Circle in Sweden!

This method is a bit more controlled since you're working with eggs that are already cooked. The smokiness is more concentrated in the egg white, and it's easier to handle and eat (since you don't have to peel them after smoking). It's also easier to monitor the texture because you're starting with a hard-boiled base.
