For the one similar to the one in CRG pic I come up with 3984 watts

Average insulation for a smoker 2' 6" deep, 4' 4" wide and 5' 4" high.

Temp increase= 200 F
Sq. Ft.= 2.5 x 4.33
Height= 5.33
Btu= 13600
Watt= 3984

Thats what I came up with for the one I was buildin.

OU812  do you have a formula that you used to get this? I need to figure out 1 for 25"deep 21"wide 62" high sorry to hijack CRG

Here is a site that may help.

thanks Brian!

Left coast a 2x2x5 at 250* = 5500BTU or 1611 watts

at 200* = 4400BTU or 1289 watts! (that was for tight insulation)

For Average insulation: @200 = 8800BTU or 2578 watts
                                 @250 = 11000BTU or 3223 watts

Thanks again Brian!

Thanks Brian and CRG I was just on there fooling around, I think this thing would be considered well insulated and tight but I'm going to have a look anyway.

You get your "Future Smoker" yet?

classicrockgriller

OU, I thought I posted an answer, but quess not.

I haven't been feeling up to par, but am hoping to do that Thursday or Friday.

Need to do it this week as my Son#1 is getting married next week.

Also, I got a call from people that had Future Smoker #1, seems the other people

never came and got it. I am going to Houston tomorrow and if it is there, it is

coming home with me also. Then I can decide which way to go.

This is gonna look like "Back to the Future" when you get all this...
Reckon you could beat all that stainless steel into the shape of a Delorean?  With a smokestack?

Sad to here you've been under the weather lately, get well soon my friend.

This auta be fun, what to do with 2 future smokers, what to do, what to do?

classicrockgriller

Future Smoker 1 was gone, it had been sold.

But I will post pics tomorrow of the one I brought home with me today Future Smoker 3.

I like this one so much I may just make a storage container out of Future Smoker 2.

OU812

Old dead refrigerators make great storage containers, we have one full of welding supplies and our helmets. Keeps the dust, moisture and mice out. You should see the look on peoples faces when they open it.

Priceless.

I unloaded the FS 3 and left it beside the House where we park.

Wifie was going somewhere and didn't see it till she backed up.

She sat in the driveway for 10 minutes staring at it.

I know when she comes Home, I will get the "stare" and maybe a spankin'.
