Hey Dan I will give Boonies a try again. Ozarks I have tried twice,
The ribs were dry and the pulled pork was mediocre at best.
Lets give Boonies a try, I always give eateries a second chance.

The latest e-mail on the sauce: Colin, we have to have a customs broker to assist us in getting clearance into Canada. Are you affiliated with Bradley.
and do they have people who do this type of thing.

Please advise.

I am going to make some calls friday in the morning and see if I can find someone through work. Or I may talk to Brian at Bradley and see if he has any ideas. The saga continues.

Colin, I really don't understand this. Is it the amount they are shipping?

They ship to Canada all the time.

Maybe Brian can give you some Heads-Up.

Hate to hear of a stumbling block this late in the game.

Quarlow

Yeah I think it is the quantity. Well we will see what we can come up with. Our company deals with freight forwarders so I will talk to my boss and see what he thinks.

Guys

I was wondering when this might become an issue

Yes, for this amount we will need a customs broker
My guess is that the fees wlll be somewhere between $50 and $100 for the load
If UPS brings it across, I think their standard rate is closer to $100
When the shipment clears, there will most likely be a duty that applies that the broker will pay, not sure what duty would be on something like this
Then the HST will be applied.  Anyone in Alberta note, that you will pay PST even though I think you guys are still exempt from it

Once all the fees are known, we better figure out an all in cost or this could get real;ly expensive and maybe catch some off guard
All I wanted to do was slow smoke some ribs.  Another addiction created thanks to the Bradley that requires regular servicing...  But what an addiction to have.  Even better to share here with some of the best people on the planet.

Would you like smoke with that sir ?

Although I'd avoid UPS altogether, you can do your own brokerage/customs papers.
If you are close to the customs hub (Vancouver). It's a simple form to fill out declaring
the goods.

UPS will rape you to do this.

Consider that option. All the send has to do is mark the package CLEARLY customer to
clear customs.

Ok thanks Kevin.

Lets see what Lenwood and Q come up with.

Quarlow

Ok I am going to have it shipped you either a mailbox company just across the border or to my wifes aunt in Birch Bay. Then I will pick it up and bring it across. I will only have to pay the HST on it. This would have been to high of cost for a broker just to get it across the border.

The mailbox company wants $25 to handle it, which is pretty good but I am cheap with you guys money so I am going to talk to the aunt.
