Speaking of wives...

Y'all ever watch those HGTV shows?
Young couples buying their first house?

The guy is always saying stupid crap like, "this could be my music room"...
Or, "honey you can have this side of the walk-in closet; it has more room... I wuvu..."

How come they never show the "post-closing-this-is-the-basement-sit-your-@ss-down-Fido" sequel?

I like the ones where you know the bitchy wife is dead on in season.

Husband goes from spending 350,000 for a house to 1.2 mil in one show.

hal4uk

Uh huh...  Seems they never show the "your-bank-stopped-loving-you-today" sequels either...
Sad thing too.  Might be very instructive for people that forget you gotta EAT too.

That's about food?  yeah???

Give me something to smoke (food), and I am a happy camper.

hal4uk

Yep.  Food and family is what it's all about.

Ok, we had a bit of 'science', now for the 'beer'..   (here are a few 'disaster' shots to whet your whistle, KyNola!)

Bubba and I actually had quite a long conversation, on how to do this.

It turned out well.   Briefly.

Load 'er up:

Something to keep the sun off:

Ahh... Pretty pretty:

[flash forward 2 hours]

Cue the tornado sirens:

That mess in the background?  More on that later..   But we had 12 of Hal's relatives arriving for drinks and dinner in about 90 minutes...

Yeah, we hunkered down in the garage when the hail started (after clearing room in Hal's "lawn mower bay" to jam my car in) and let it all blow over.   It was what they call a 'microburst', but it flattened all kinds of stuff, knocked trees down, etc.

The beer survived!

I should have put the date in there...   That was 2 summers ago - early July.

Ahh ok. That is a beautiful yard you have and love the brick house.

That's Hal's place...  And I agree, it is a beautiful setting! (well, not that particular afternoon, but the rest of the time it is)
