CRG,

Thanks, going to try this recipe -  I have some smoked cheddar hiding behind the sausage casings in the downstairs fridge (nobody looks behind those ;D) .  I have some beef short ribs in my farm delivery today and will do both tomorrow.   I was just away for a week+ and the only places near by were pizza places , I'm ready for some real food.

Deb

Deb,
After having them twice now. We have decided to add 1/2 teaspoon of Garlic powder to the dry ingredients. That way there is more garlic flavor inside the biscuits.

Damn conformity !
I read so much about these bisquits and eyed some Bisquick gathering dust in the cupboard so I had to "me too" these.
YOWSER...   too good.  Now I have to buy some more Bisquick.  I think will be adding some garlic to the mix as well the next
time I make these which will probably be the weekend.

Great recipe.  Warning: This recipe may be addictive and hazardous to your waist !
All I wanted to do was slow smoke some ribs.  Another addiction created thanks to the Bradley that requires regular servicing...  But what an addiction to have.  Even better to share here with some of the best people on the planet.

Would you like smoke with that sir ?

Speaking of oddites, My first capt' would cook spaghetti noodles for breakfast and then put milk and brown sugar. I said what the #%$% are you doing. And he said think about it, It is made from wheat so it's like eating porridge. Ok so to each his own.

This copy cat recipe is so simple that you could probably do 100 things to it and make it your own, jalapeno cheese, corn and jalapeno pieces, cooked shrimp pieces, cooked crayfish tails, etc.

Am glad you liked it.

Sorry CRG.  I removed my posts.  They were entirely inappropriate.  Too little sleep lately.  Get on with your daughter's wedding!

Did you say something wrong? I was trying to figure out (asking) what a salt water chipmuck was, lol

Sorry.  The salt water chipmunks came from the thought of brining - too much work.  My wife buys huge bags of unshelled peanuts from Costco and feeds the critters; they're looking pretty fat and happy and they're all over the place, digging holes in the yard.

Between four busy days, my Wii quit just in time for championship bowling, our bedroom TV just lost sound (not a bad thing according to me), ...  I think I'll just have to chill out for a day or so.  But thanks for the reply.

Kinda lax but I finally got around to making the biscuits Sunday morning.

I started with the recipe posted by CRG (page 1).  I went with 10.5's suggestion and added 1/2 tsp of garlic powder to the mix.  I used parchment paper rather than a greased pan.  I had a yield of 9 good sized biscuits.

I took them out of the oven, brushed on the butter/garlic and sprinkled on the parsley.  Put 'em on a rack to cool a bit.  My wife took one look and said "Uh oh, wanna play hockey?"

These things are great.  Light and fluffy.  My wife was really surprised.  They went with Sunday morning's breakfast of scrambled eggs with chopped spinach, chopped fried bacon and a few red pepper flakes.  Yum  :D

Arnie, When she gives that look and says UH OH. Just look at her and say "OH YE of Little Faith this is from the forum it's gonna be good!! But you don't have to try any if you don't want to just more for me." Usual reply is "Just give me a piece and shut up" ;D ;D
